| So once in awhile people tell me of deals that they have found. I wish there was a way for all of us to corporately know what they are! So I decided to post ones that I have found for y'all.
Wal Mart sells raw sugar for $2.88! (Meijer $3.79, trader joes $4.99, etc.)
The pepperidge farm outlet on 8 mile and middlebelt, sells big bags of small bagels for $1.99, or 2 bags for $3.00. There are GREAT deals on bread and crackers and cookies there.
I just bought re-useable sandwich bags. They are made of coated fabric and when unwrapped become a placemat. They sell online at https://www.wrap-n-mat.com/index.php. I bought the clearance green and black ones but they come in a big variety of prints and colors. Mine was $4.99. Bye bye disposable yucky foil!
A fun night out is the river 93.9 after work parties. They are usually during the week from 5-7 at different bars around the metro detroit area and windsor. But they are usually reeealllly fun! They serve free cocktails (sometimes) and always free appetizers. A band that the radio is promoting always plays, and they always are giving away something free. I have won tickets to go see John Legend, a Neil Young cd, t-shirts, and concert tickets to Bedouin Soundclash. Check out http://www.939theriverradio.com/section/view_authent/?fnode=44

| The rain is really something today. so unexpected and calm. I did not know it was supposed to rain and sent my daughter off to school on her bike. Now the bike is sitting there being relentlessly pounded by water that is eating away the paint and shine and the hopes a young girl had of speeding away from school with the breeze running through her hair. Oh well.
I spent a lot of time and some cash this year making sure that each child had a pair of rainboots and a great raincoat. Growing up, those were purchases my parents never made for my sisters and I. They didn't exactly avoid buying them. My parents were just the kind of people that didn't think ahead. Not real big planners my folks. Raincoats were something rich or paranoid or dotting parents would buy for their children. So when the storms came and my sisters and I missed the bus or something like that it was the Casey girls, who were the wet ones. The ones who were wishing they had the parents who thought of things like raincoats and flu shots and college funds.
Why though after all of this careful planning and time spent making sure each kid of mine was prepared for the rain is my daughter sitting in school thinking about her bike ride home, in the rain....without her raincoat? I guess I just can't be prepared for everything, no matter how much I try.
The rain makes me feel open and clean yet still a little down. Like there are some picture albums I should look at to remind me I am loved and have had a great life so far. | | |
